Antonino Coriolano Natoli da Patti, T.O.S.F. was an Italian member of the Third Order of St. Francis, born in a noble family of French royal descent. He was a theologian and an author of several miracles. Antonino Natoli was the son of the noble man Antonino Natoli of Piraino and Elisabetta (Elizabeth) Monforte of Patti of the Princes of Moncada〔() ''Legendario francescano, istorie de Santi, Beati, Venerabili ed altri Uomini ...'', Benedetto Mazzara〕. Antonino Natoli leaves all riches of the noble Natoli family with a vowing of absolute poverty, he was Servant of God and Venerable of Catholic Church, but he was mentioned in some ancient texts as Saint, he had an exemplary life and heroic virtues, he was martyred and the author of three Miracles, he is venerated by the faithful, both Catholic and Protestant. Until XI century the canonization process was simplified and consisted of an official authorization for the bishops for the veneration after a brief investigation and a preparation of a text of ''the Life of the saint'', or some sort of hagiographic biography containing his miracles (''the bishop's canonization''), he answers the calling of ''vox populi''. Antonino Natoli has certainly enjoyed a ''reputation for holiness''. == Early life == Antonino Natoli belonged to the same family of the archibishop of Catania Corrado Maria Deodato Moncada, as the vice-King of Aragon and Sardinia Gaston de Moncada, and the Princess Marie-Esméralda of Belgium. He had a severe souls, humble and very patient in the physical sufferings, author of numerous miracles that were recognized when he was alive. He was martyred for a wrongful imprisonment because the allegations of his brothers. He was also Guardian and the Provincial Minister of the Reformed of Sicily and keeper of the Royal Monastery of the Basilica of Santa Chiara in Naples. Already alive Servant of God, die in Odour of sanctity the January 6th of 1618, buried in Rome, was recognized Venerable. It is commemorated on January 6. His tomb is located in a chapel of the church of San Francesco a Ripa, in Rome, where St. Francis used to sleep in Rome, along with Giorgio de Chirico who was devoted and benefactor. Various relics of Antonino Natoli are preserved, including several of his tattered tunic.
